The sandy shore of Khao Takiab Beach in Hua Hin, Thailand, becomes a crime scene when a woman's lifeless body is washed up by the waves. The local police rule it a suicide, but their verdict is soon challenged by a second body near the same beach. The only link between the two victims is their workplace: Nordic Care Hospital, a private clinic that serves wealthy Scandinavians.
Axel Delling, a retired Interpol agent from Norway, now living in Hua Hin, is hired to solve the case. He soon uncovers a tangled web of lies and secrets, involving not only the hospital staff, but also corrupt cops at the nearby police station.
