"I have a girlfriend."

She explained that stopped me. I released her face as silence enveloped us both... And she speaks.

"How are you now?"

"I'm fine, how about you? Oh, I'm sure you're delighted."

"I should be. She's charming, and I love her."

"That is good to know… and you deserved that…"

I said, trying to calm the emotions that want to come out of me…

"You deserved it as well, and I just wanted you to know that I am always here for you. Friendships are not a part of our breakup, right?"

When she said that, I couldn't hold back my tears and hugged her tightly.

"I miss you, Babe…"

I said, almost in tears.

"I miss you, Esth, my baby."

She added that tears were streaming down my cheeks.

"Look, I won't leave again. I will stay here now."

She replied quietly, and I turned to face her. She wipes away my tears and kisses my forehead and speaks.

"Best friends?"

I was stopped when she asked. It may not be the word I expected to hear from her, but I suppose it is sufficient...

We don't work well as a couple, but I suppose we will as friends.

"Just so you know, becoming my best friend requires more than just a girlfriend; are you still interested in applying?"

I smile and ask, though I am trying hard to suppress my emotion.

"I guess I can work that out!"

She replied, smirking.

And the entire night inside her car is filled with laughter and giggling; I suppose it's much nicer this way...

But I must say, I really miss her...so much…
